Karuizawa 1st Batch - 1999-2000 Vintage - Sherry Butt
Karuizawa was a Japanese distillery that operated from the late fifties until 2001. To commemorate the distillery’s final years, we have several unique small-batch releases. This is the first, aged in sherry oak and decorated in a red colour scheme.
Karuizawa 34 Year Old - Cask #3668 - Ruby Geisha
This 34-year-old release was matured in a single sherry butt and its time in cask have given it a rich and complex character with layers of sherry-oak and spice.
Karuizawa 38 Year Old - Cask #7582 - Ruby Geisha
"This thirty-eight-year-old Japanese whisky is the older of two releases to carry the ‘Geisha’ name. It’s been matured in a single sherry butt, and, as a product of the legendary Karuizawa Distillery, it commands considerable respect among whisky enthusiasts.
Karuizawa 38 Year Old - Platinum Geisha
Introducing the first of the final two Karuizawa Platinum Geishas, a 1984-vintage whisky aged in a sherry cask for 38 years. This rare bottling from the renowned closed distillery is known for its rich sherry fruit and complex spiciness, and is a true highlight of the Karuizawa Geisha range. Bottled by Elixir Distillers, this whisky is a fitting conclusion to the legendary series.
Karuizawa 3rd Batch - 1999-2000 Vintage - Sherry Butt
Here we have the ‘green’ bottling from the Karuizawa Distillery’s 1999-2000 series. These small-batch releases were distilled during the closing chapter of the distillery’s life, and matured in sherry butts. The bottle features calligraphy by Sooun Takeda.
Karuizawa 40 Year Old - Platinum Geisha
The Karuizawa Platinum Geishas, a pair of exceptional bottlings and the final due in the long-running series. This one, distilled in 1982 and aged for 40 years in a sherry cask, is the older of the two. With a sublime taste, it offers a perfect balance of fruit, spice, and elegant old oak, making it a fitting end to the legendary series.
Macallan 18 Year Old - 1985 - Box Slightly Damaged
Another rare and extraordinary offering from Macallan, this time a nicely balanced 18 year old. Beginning its journey at their Islay distillery in 1985, this single malt was matured for its entire lifespan in ex Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled in 2003 at 43%
